SENIORS VICE CAPTAIN: Andy Johnston
Born in Dublin Ireland, left the emerald isle in 1979,came to Manchester and worked for Walkers crisps as a rep for over 28 years, Happily married to Janet who is a golf widow. Played golf for many years before joining Hazel Grove in the year 2000. I have been a supporter of the winter league for many years but stopped playing last year. Joined the Seniors section and playing a lot more golf now as I am retired. I hope I can carry on all the great work with a great team going forward.
SENIORS SECRETARY: Mike Keyworth
Mike was elected Seniors Secretary in 2018 and
manages the day to day organisation of the Seniors Section Activities and Inter-club matches.
SENIORS TREASURER: Nigel Estill
Nigel has always lived in South Manchester. He started playing golf in his ‘teens’ playing most days in the school holidays, partners became thin on the ground when moving up a level and he became an occasional player with marriage , kids and work taking priority ( bad move!).
He ‘restarted’ on retirement joining Hazel Grove Seniors 5 years ago and now known as a long hitter but not always in the right direction! hence he struggles with the consistency needed to lower his handicap.
Although not from a financial background he is hoping his past ‘number crunching’ as a Structural Engineer will assist in this post (none of his buildings have fallen down yet!)
Married to non-golfer Heather with a Son, also an occasional golfer, a Daughter and 2 Grandchildren , yet to give them cut down clubs but must do soon to keep golf in the family.
